"A test pressing is a small number of preliminary vinyl records made to check the quality of the final product before mass production begins. These copies allow artists, producers, and engineers to verify sound quality, check for physical flaws like warping or off-center grooves, and ensure the correct audio program is being pressed. Test pressings are typically sent out to the client for approval, and they often have plain white jackets or labels."
This album was originally released by Rough Trade Records (on CD only) in November of 2005, produced by Kramer with Jeffrey Lewis.
